Contest No.1: Icon (For artists and animators)

Description:

For this contest, you will need to create an icon. It can be traditional, pixel, still, animated or digital. You will be judged on your drawing or animation technique and your overall design. It must either include an oc of mine or be part of the fandoms/favourite characters I list. It can be full body or headshot. It does not need to be complicated at all! I don't care about what style you draw them in, as long as you can tell who they are, I'm fine with anything!

In this contest you can draw any of these characters (I would prefer them to be one of my ocs):

Canon characters:
Rainbow Dash from My Little Pony FiM, Chel or Tzekal Khan from The Road the El Dorado, Sherlock Holmes, Benson or Mordecai from Regular Show, Medic or Sniper from TF2, Mr Peabody from Mr Peabody & Sherman, Harley Quinn (preferrably New 52 version) , Garnet from Steven Universe, Ratchet from Transformers Prime. 

Rules:

  1. No NSFW content.
  2. You can submit multiple entries (only if you want! It is not a requirement) but only one will win!
  3. I would prefer it to be coloured if you can. 
  4. It must be able to fit into the Deviantart icon requirement if animated (50x50 and nothing over 15KB for animations/GIFs)
  5. Please title your work as "Amicus-Nocte Contest Entry: (Your own Title)" Please number your entries, even if you only enter once!
  6. Link all entries on my comment section and mention me in your description so I can keep track of any entries. 
  7. No tracing art, no recolours or stealing. None. Try your best on your entry. 
  8. You must submit it, no hiding it in Stash please.
  9. Bases are fine (but are not highly encouraged). If you use them, credit them properly. (mention the base maker and link back to the base please.) Same for any references used.
What you will be judged on:

  1. Technique
  2. Smoothness of the Animation
  3. Quality of the overall icon.
  4. Accuracy of my ocs.

There will be TWO winners and both artists/writers will receive TWO drawings of their any one or two of their ocs, along with 10 points each! If any of the winners don't have an oc, we can work something out. 

For First place;

Bullet; Green I offer a coloured bust!

You will get both the headshot and the full body as your two drawings!

Contest No.2: A Story Behind It (for artists and/or writers)

Description:

For this contest, you will need to either write a short story or draw a picture with dialogue in the description. You will be judged not on your overall drawing technique but on your ability to capture emotions within your writing and/or drawing and your inventiveness. You can contain a point as to where a character overcomes a fear of theirs, a ship of yours, an emotional moment or a lesson that the character learns from. They do not have to be canon to my characters!! Traditional and Digital art is welcome and any style of writing too!

For example:
  • What event caused Olivia to overcome her fear of bears?
  • How did Sly come to realise his feelings for Olivia?
  • When did Elowen learn to become less demanding of everyone else?
  • How did Janelle loose her left arm?
  • How did MidnightBringer form a friendship with the autobot Wildstrike?

In this contest you will be drawing at least ONE of my characters, which includes:

  2. Refrain from using one of your OC's. And if you must add an oc of yours, I'd prefer them not to be a major part of the scene. 
  3. You must have dialogue in the description (if you are drawing)
  4. Bases are also allowed (but are not highly encouraged). If you use them, credit them properly. (mention the base maker and link back to the base please.) Same for any references used.

  2. How well you characterise the characters
  3. How you portray emotions in drawings and/or text.

Runners Up: 
Bullet; Green I offer a fully coloured or lineart chibi/Headshot of your oc!

The two winners and two runners up will also receive a chibi or headshot drawing of one of their ocs.
